4 Way Agreement

From September 2021 we will be asking all Supporting Minds students to complete a 4 way agreement before commencing placement.

This is simply an agreement between you, Supporting Minds, your supervisor and your placement provider.

It aims to offer transparency around information that will be shared between the aforementioned people and organisations to ensure you are supported to practice ethically and safely.

4 way agreements will not be issued until you have succesfully completed the first two units of your course and have received your Fitness to Practice certificate from your tutor.

Supporting Minds will also need to see evidence of your Enhanced DBS, insurance, professional body membership and your supervisor details, even if you are having an external placement. This is to ensure due diligence.

The counselling profession is rapidly changing and the emphasis on accountability and ethical practice is higher than ever, as it should be, we want to ensure that you are safe, supported and meeting the high standards set out by the professional bodies such as the BACP and NCS.
