Lecturer Counselling and Psychotherapy
OPEN FEBRUARY 2017
We are looking to recruit a counselling lecturer to deliver our BTEC Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling course. The lecturer must be qualified to Level 5 or above, have a Person Centred core with an understanding of integrative approaches and ideally a basic teaching qualification such as PTLLS or equivalent.
We are looking for a therapist that understands who they are as a person and as a counsellor and we would expect that they continue to have a small caseload of clients.
The role will include delivery, some preparation, marking and internal verifying of other lecturers work. Support and guidance will be offered with all aspects of the role.
We are a small teaching team and autonomous working will be a large part of this role. Experience delivering counselling courses is ideal because of the challenges that can arise.
This role may require an immediate start but with a guaranteed start of April 2017 and is a self employed role. Due to the nature of the course and the small team we have, we need someone that is committed and reliable. Initially this is a two day a month (Saturday and Sunday 10am- 4pm) position with the potential to increase hours and potentially some level 2 delivery.
The hourly rate will be £20 per hour and initially will be for teaching hours only however, this is dependent on student numbers and we would hope to offer extra paid hours for marking time. Internal verifying time will be paid in addition regardless of student numbers.
Interviews will be held in February/ March 2017.

" I was hesitant about joining a new group as an adult learner but the tutor made me feel relaxed and at ease and I was happy to fully engage with all aspects of the course. "
" Tutor was excellent, engaging, fantastic knowledge, clearly very enthusiastic about the subject. Great job! "
" Due to my husbands severe depression I had to give up my job 2 years ago. Then a couple of months ago an advert requesting a volunteer to help out with administration at SM caught my eye, I met Jenine and the rest is history. I now work 3 mornings a week and love it, it has changed my life making me feel so much more positive. Jenine is amazing, the counsellors are fantastic and the clients are so thankful for this service. I would have no problem in recommending such an excellent service. Everyone needs Supporting Minds in their life. "
" I like the idea of essentially a person centred organisation which opens its doors to those where NHS methods are not appropriate and conventional therapy is out of reach financially. I like the freedom of having no time restrictions and working with a wide variety of presentations. "
